LA IMPORTANCIA DEL TONER - THE IMPORTANCE OF TONER

Al lavarnos la cara o al salir de la ducha generalmente pensamos Ahhhh! que limpiecita esta mi piel, ahora solo me pongo una buena crema hidratante y sere una modelo de Pond's! (se me cayo el carnet un poco?)...pero la verdad es OTRA!!! tu piel no esta limpia y MENOS lista para usar tu hidratante favorito. Lamentablemente tu piel sigue sucia a nivel microscópico y mas aun si vives en en una cuidad como Santiago de Chile (contaminación atmosférica from hell). Lo que haces al usar tu hidratante  antes de usar un toner es mezclarlo con la suciedad que queda en tu cara lo que crea un ambiente ideal para el desarrollo de puntos negros y espinillas. Se que a veces da flojera tener una rutina de cuidado facial mas completa pero no lo puedo enfatizar suficiente...UN TONER CAMBIARA TU VIDA!!! o por lo menos tu piel, te aseguro que si no lo has probado todavía veras una diferencia desconcertante. Si los has probado antes y no te hacen feliz, te sugiero que investigues y veas cual es el MEJOR para tu tipo de piel porque a veces usar uno comercialmente "bueno" produce mas problemas que soluciones.

When we wash our face or go out of the shower we feel like Ahhh! my skin is so clean! I just need a good moisturizer and I'm ready to go but NO! that's no true, your skin is far from clean and certainly not ready for moisturizer. Unfortunately, your skin is still dirty in a microscopic level and more if you live in a city as congested as Santiago, Chile. When you apply moisturizer before toner the dirt on your skin mixes with it creating a great home for bacteria, black heads and white heads. I know sometimes we don't feel like having a more through face cleaning routine but trust me A TONER WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!! or at least your skin. I assure you that if you haven't tried a toner yet your will see an incredible difference. If you have tried it and you are not happy with it I suggest you make some more research and look for the one that's perfect for your skin type. Sometimes using a commercially qualified "good" toner will produce more problems than solutions for your skin.

Yo tuve acne por mucho tiempo y probe muchos toners medicados que lo único que hicieron fue dejar mi piel peor de lo que estaba. Después de que, gracias a la ayuda de una doctora, antibióticos y pastillas naturales lo supere, me di cuenta de que los mejores toners para todo tipo de piel son los menos "potentes". Generalmente los que dicen tratar algún problema, como piel grasa, puntos negros, acne y piel muy seca son muy agresivos o aceitosos y pueden romper la barrera protectora  de la piel por lo que pierde la capacidad de regenerarse y sanarse por si sola. Lo que yo recomiendo según mi propia experiencia es buscar toners que sean mas bien naturales y suaves con componentes como la rosa, el árbol del te, aloe vera, manzanilla o pepino. Y en el caso de no ser naturales BIODERMA es lejos lo mejor!

I had acne for a long, long time and during that time I tried a lot of medicated toners that left my skin looking terrible and very irritated. After my acne was cured (or controlled) thanks to an amazing doctor, antibiotics and natural pills I realize that the best toners for all skin types are the less "potent" ones. Generally, the ones that say to treat some kind of problems such as acne, black heads or very dry skin are very aggressive and can break the protective barrier of the skin or fill it with oils not allowing the skin to heal by itself. What I recommend, based on my own experience, is to look for toners that are mainly natural and gentle containing rose water, tea tree, aloe vera, chamomille or cucumber. In case of not being mainly natural I think BIODERMA is the best by far!

LUMENE NATURAL CODE: Buenisimo y suave, ideal para usarlo todos los dias. Tambien lo puedes encontrar en Farmacias Ahumada.

AGUA DE MANZANILLA: La puedes hacer en tu casa facilmente. Solo haz un tesito de manzanilla con dos bolsitas para que quede mas concentrado, si tienes en hoja mejor! y despues dejala enfriar. Ponla en algun frasquito o recipiente que te guste y mantenla en el refrigerador. Cada mañana y noche usala con un algodon, sus propiedades antinflamatorias haran maravillas! Renuevala cada dos semanas maximo para mantener su frescura.

CHAMOMILLE WATER: You can make it yourself. Just make a chamomille tea with two teabags for better concentration, if you have chamomille leaves is even better. Let it cool down and keep it in the fridge. Apply morning and night with a cotton pad. Renew it every two weeks maximum to keep its freshness.

AGUA DE ROSAS: Aparte de su rico olor, el agua de rosas sirve para todo tipo de piel. Es un exelente toner para todos los dias y para refrescarte durante el dia. Tambien reduce las arrugas mas suaves y deja una piel mas pareja y tersa. Simplemente deliciosa. La puedes conseguir en farmacias Knob.

ROSE WATER: Besides its delicious scent, rose water works for any skin type. Ideal to use every day as a toner or to refresh your skin during the day. It reduces small wrinkles and leaves the skin soft and even. Simply delicious. You can get it in any Natural phramacy.

BIODERMA CREALINE H2O: Formulada para pieles secas y sensibles este toner hidrata y mantiene el balance cutaneo de la piel. Es perfecto para mantener la hidratacion de la piel sin dejarla grasosa. La puedes conseguir en Farmacias Ahumada.

LECHE VIRGINAL: es una antigua receta a base de Tintura de Benjuí. Es regeneradora de tejidos  e hidratante. Aparte de lo bien que se siente es anticeptica y protectora cutanea, osea un delicioso manjar para tu piel. La puedes encontrar en farmacias Knob o cualquier farmacia natural.

Hace poco llego a mis manos la revista Report...una revista Chilena de moda y estilo con la que me quede realmente impresionada. Fue muy grato encontrarme con una revista que no tiene nada que envidiar a cualquier revista de moda internacional. Me encanto el diseño, las producciones de Moda y su contenido! que incluye moda, tendencias, colecciones, runways, belleza, diseño y arte. Aparte de moda y estilo para hombres!
Sus creadoras (4 mujeres) iniciaron la revista interesandose en el mundo de la moda, el diseño y las tendencias, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. La revista es trimestral y esta enfocada en mostrar las tendencias de cada temporada, principalmente a través de producciones y reportajes hechos con fotógrafos, productores y maquilladores chilenos. Su intención es darle un vuelco a todo lo que es la moda en Chile y para mi gusto llegan en un buen momento! Necesitamos una buena revista de moda "Made in Chile" a nivel internacional ♥

Hay tantos productos que me encantan para el pelo que no podía quedarme sin compartir algunos...la verdad es que mi pelo no es lo mas maravillo del mundo, pero si hay productos que me hacen sentir mejor al respecto y al usarlos me creo un poco la muerte (broma) Mi pelo es mas que nada graso en la raíz y seco en las puntas, pero muchos de estos productos sirven para todo tipo de pelo. He aqui los productos que me hacen sentir menos fome y mas cercana a un comercial de Pantene.

There are so many hair produtcs that I love so it's imposible for me not to share some. The truth is that my hair is not the most wonderful thing in the world but there are some products that make me feel better about it. When I use them I feel completely to die for! (kidding) My hair is mostly oily on the roots and dry on the ends. Here there are these amazing products that make me feel less plain and more like a Pantene comercial.

Me encantan los shampoo y acondicionadores de John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE, me dejan el pelo suavecito y lleno de brillo...algo que es un poco difícil de alcanzar en Invierno y en una ciudad tan contaminada como Santiago de Chile. Los dos el Hidratante y el Reparador son buenísimos, realmente los recomiendo. Además ayudan con el frizz! que siempre es un plus! Los puedes encontrar en la mayoría de las farmacias y creo que en algunos supermercados.

I love the John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE shampoo and conditioners, they leave my hair super soft,  shiny and strong...something that's really difficult to achieve on a winter in a city as polluted as Santiago, Chile. The two kinds, Hydrating and Repairing are just great! I really recommend them, besides they control frizz which is always a plus! You can find them in pharmacies in the U.S and also in supermarkets I believe.

A pesar de su forma un poco fálica(?) para mi gusto este producto es lo mejor!!! tiene un olor muy rico y reconstruye la apariencia de tu pelo incluso si no esta recién lavado. El After Party de Bead Head quita el frizz y da brillo instantáneo, perfecto para cuando hay que salir y no hay tiempo. Basta con hecharte un poco en las manos, restregarlas y pasártelas por el pelo seco. Es un poco caro, pero de verdad vale la pena! Pruébalo! Lo puedes encontrar en Pichara.

Besides it's weird (?) form, this product is the best!!! It's smell is amazing and reconstruct the appearance of your hair even if is not recently washed. The After Party from Bead Head takes the frizz away and gives you shine instantaneously, its perfect for when you have to rush out. Just put a little in your palms, rub them together and apply it on dry hair. It's a little more expensive but definitely worth trying! you can find it in most pharmacies in the U.S

 

 

No podía faltar! Moroccan Oil es uno de los mejores productos que he probado. Mejoro mi pelo en un 70% diría yo con la primera botella y también tiene un olor exquisito. También es tan fácil como restregarla un poco en tus manos y aplicarla en los sectores mas "pajosos" Lo ideal es usarla cuando tienes el pelo húmedo, pero también se puede usar con el pelo seco como un controlador de frizz...lo bueno es que a la vez repara por lo que mientras mas la uses mejor! También lo puedes encontrar en Pichara. Ojo! tiene que ser esta marca porque he probado otras y el efecto no es el mismo.


Moroccan Oil is one of the best product I have ever tried. It reconstructed my hair in a 70% I would say with the first bottle and also has an amazing smell (makes me think of a luxurious Marroquian resort!) It's also very easy to use just rub it in to your hands and apply to the dry spots. Ideally it should be used on wet hair but you can also use it on dry hair as frizz control..The best part is that it also repairs and the more you use it the better! You can find it in their web page. Be careful, It should be this specific brand because I've tried other and they have a totally different effect.

Aunque no lo creas el Aceite de Oliva extra virgen es maravilloso para el pelo. Una vez lo probe muy escépticamente y me realmente me sorprendí! Me la heche en el pelo sin lavar, mas que nada en las puntas y me la deje en el pelo toda la noche en un tomate. Al otro día después de lavarme el pelo vi una diferencia NOTABLE! se sentía mucho mas resistente, brillante y sano! Realmente sentí que mi pelo me lo agradecía...por eso lo recomiendo porque es natural, relativamente barato y si puedes conseguir orgánico mucho mejor! La puedes conseguir en cualquier supermercado.

Believe it or not extra virgin Olive Oil is amazing for your hair. I tried it very skeptically once and I was very surprised with the results! I put it on my dry unwashed hair specially on the ends, put my hair into a bun and went to sleep. On the next day after washing my hair I noted a BIG! difference! My hair was much more healthy, shiny and great looking overall! I really felt my hair was thanking me...that's why I recommend it because it's natural, inexpensive and if you can find an organic brand much better! You can get it at any supermarket.

Gracias a una lovely amiga que me la recomendó, un día probe el aceite de coco. La forma de aplicarla es igual a la del aceite de oliva, pero el olor es mucho mas rico...esa noche me fui a acostar sintiéndome como una cocada gigante! Al día siguiente al lavarme el pelo no vi mucha diferencia, pero durante el día me di cuenta de que mi pelo tenia mucho menos frizz y mucha gente me dijo que se veía sano y si, definitivamente hubo un cambio. Mi pelo estaba mas fuerte y liso, eso si no recomiendo usarla muy seguido porque según mi amiga no da los mismos resultados. Solo para ocasiones especiales! La puedes encontrar en Preunic y es suuuuuuper económica. Recuerda calentarla antes de aplicar.

Thanks to a lovely friend who recommended it, one day I tried  Coconut Oil. The way to apply it is the same as you apply Olive Oil but the smell is much better...that night I went to bed feeling like a giant dessert! On the next day after washing my hair I didn't notice a big difference but as the day went on I noticed that my hair had much less frizz and many people gave me compliments on it. Finally I realized that my hair was definitely more healthy and lush. I wouldn't recommend to use it too often because my friend told me that it didn't work as well if you do, but I would say it is great for very special occasions! You can find it in dollar stores and pharmacies and it's suuuuper inexpensive. Remember to heat it before applying.
